Summer Tent Team Enabled by CURF Grant
Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships to support a team of Penn undergraduate researchers during summer 2017. A cross-disciplinary team of six undergraduates from the Penn Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences, with majors including Architecture, Biology, Chemistry and Bioengineering, are pursuing the design and prototyping of a deployable, emergency tent that can divert and collect water using active coating technologies developed by Penn researchers. The undergraduates are mentored by REACT Fellows and faculty, as well as Prof. Orkan Telhan from Penn Design.
